Beige Isn't Boring

It's downright gorgeous! I've been getting back in the swing of grabbing Etsy treasuries and made this one late last night. I have a feeling I'm going to purchase that shirt and ring soon. LOL...

So this evening I just finished making a double batch of my infamous chocolate chip cookies (hey another beige goodie) and I think I totally burned out the mixer. I swear to god smoke was coming out of the thing. Oh well, it's nearly as old as me. Maybe I'll get a new one this Friday... I'm seriously considering getting up at the crack of dawn and head to Walmart for a portable DVD player. It would be nice in the studio!

I think I'll survive...

Whew! I just dropped off my inventory for the Rock n' Roll Craft Show. I found out the Delmar is closed just East of the Pageant, so I took Forest Park Parkway to Union. Why didn't I do that when I was teaching at 3rd Degree?! It was so much easier and quicker! LOL... So anyways, I'm essentially depleted inventory wise after these next three shows (last one being Big Ass Indie Craft Show @ Mad Art). I think I'll start preparing for next year's run in February! :)

Next on the agenda... cooking Thanksgiving dinner! Turkey is ordered from Honey Baked Ham, I got the recipe for made-from-scratch mac n' cheese, and some yummy stuffing. Oh and I can't forget the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies! :) Have a fantastic evening guys! I'm going to enjoy some wine!

Rock n' Roll Craft Show

Join me next weekend for the 5th annual Rock n' Roll Craft Show, November 28-30! It's being held in a familiar place for my fellow glass artists... 3rd Degree Glass Factory! RRCS is boutique-style craft show, meaning I don't have an actual booth, but my items can be found in the jewelry section, just like a true boutique. :) However, I will be there all day on Sunday volunteering, so come by and say hi!

Domino

Nothing much today... just wanted to show a design I've decided to revisit, the Domino. It's a long rectangular bead that's off-center so it hangs nicely from a choker. Now, I think it's time to kick back and enjoy some hot chocolate. Looks like fall/winter has finally arrived in St. Louis. :) Have a good evening!

Port Townsend was a Blast!

I came back from Port Townsend yesterday... word of advice, having your flight leaving at 1 a.m. is not a good idea. :) It really was a planes-ferry-automobiles type of trip. It took us 1-1/2 hours to get from the airport to Port Townsend for Andrea Guarino's Master class. If you want to see more pics, you can check out my Flickr page here.

The food was good, (oooh... crab fried rice) the company was fun, and there are so many different ideas bouncing around my head from the techniques I learned. It was two days of torching, then a 3rd day of playing with PMC. Oh, and if you're in the area, I highly recommend the James House. It's a gorgeous Victorian B & B that had the best breakfast ever. I thought it stopped with the freshly made scones... but no, they had stuffed french toast, cheese souffle, sausage, ham... tomatoes (over the course of three days, not all at once! LOL).

Below are all my beads I made over the course of the class. My favorites are the off-mandrel hearts and galaxy bead. If you would believe we used Moretti clear... regular Moretti clear. I have NEVER gotten the clear to be so clean, so non-scummy... it was unbelievable. I hope I can duplicate the success here at home. Okay... enough rambling. :) Everyone have a good evening!

Outta Here!

I'm heading to Seattle! :) I'm taking a master beadmaking class with Andrea Guarino. You can check out her website and gorgeous beads here. The flight leaves in about 2 hours... oh why, why did I get an early flight! LOL... Truth be told, me and my friend Karla wanted time to go around Seattle before heading to Port Townsend for the class. Everyone have a fantastic weekend... I'll be back around the 10th with a full report. :)

Whew! That's done!

Oh wow... it's been ages since I've done a two-day show and I was completely wiped out! For those that are visiting my website and/or blog from the Artists Boutique, thank you for attending the show and welcome! I had a lot of fun, but a tiring weekend. There was a constant, steady stream of people who attended and despite the economy, purchased a lot! I think it really helps to have a good price range and clearly marked items. Though, I think I need to make my signs bigger since a number kept asking me the price. Oh well... small lesson. :) And, I really had to laugh at the number of people who flipped the back of the Capsula (bottlecap) pendants to check out the brand I used. heehee... seriously, I didn't drink all of it.

So since Glass Galore, I made a few cosmetic changes to my table, and I am finally happy with the results. I draped the base in black velvet, then spray painted the crate and earring display black. With the black necklace stands, it all ties together nicely. Right next to my printer drawer, I have a digital frame with pics of me torching, studio, beads and jewelry. It also scrolls my artist's statement and credit information. :) *cha-ching* LOL...

Alright... must sign off, I have charms to finish and I must pack for my trip this week. Non-stop action in my world. :) Everyone have a fantastic evening!

A LEST event!

Evening everyone! Quick post... then sleep! I'm participating in the Kirkwood Artist's Boutique this weekend and so far it is going VERY well. I'm very excited and pleased! I even hopped on the torch when I got home to make more goodies because I nearly ran out today. :)

So anyways, I wanted to do a drive-by post because I want to announce I'm participating in a LEST event for the month of November. Visit my Etsy Shop, and for every item purchased, I will buy TWO cans of food for Hands, a local food bank here in Maryland Heights. You can find more information about this event here.

Night... going to bed. This is probably the earliest I've gone in months. LOL...
